They specialize in homemade clam chowder, which has made them famous up and down the coast. The French Onion Soup recipe they use is over 40 years old. They are one of the best restaurants for seafood.
J.R. Maxwell and Co. is not a chain. They are an independent restaurant and make their own rules. They are open for dining in and take out. They take reservations, but they are not welcome. J.R. Maxwell is open every day until 9 pm.
